What the cover means in practice
If the fault we repaired returns inside the labor period, we come back and there is no second diagnostic fee. If the part we fitted fails inside its period, the replacement part is covered. Both run from the date on your invoice, and the invoice is the whole of the paperwork — there is no card to register and no account to open.
What it does not cover
- A different fault in a different system. A drain heater we replaced in March is not a warranty on a condenser fan that fails in September, and we will tell you plainly which one you are looking at.
- Damage from a power event, a flood, or physical impact after the visit.
- Consequences of the cabinet being left in a condition we advised against in writing — a machine compartment with no clearance, or a coil we recommended cleaning that was never cleaned.
- Work carried out on the appliance by someone else after our visit.
- Food loss, spoilage, or the contents of a wine cabinet. Insurance covers that; a repair warranty does not.
Corrosion, honestly
Salt-air corrosion is an environment, not a defect. A new condenser fitted three streets from the Atlantic will begin loading again from the day it is installed.
The warranty covers the part and the workmanship, not the coastline. What we can do is set a realistic cleaning interval for your address — three to four times a year on the oceanfront blocks, twice further back — and put it in the written finding. The area pages carry the exposure reading we use to set it, and coil service explains what we actually do on a clean.
Making a claim
Call the number on your invoice, quote the invoice date, and describe what the cabinet is doing now. We will tell you on the phone whether it reads as the same fault or a new one, and we will not send someone out on a warranty call just to bill a diagnostic when we arrive.
Who is standing behind it
Seawall Refrigeration is. This is our own warranty on our own work. It is not a manufacturer warranty, it does not extend or replace one, and it is not administered by anyone else. We are an independent shop with no Sub-Zero program behind us, and any factory cover on your appliance is a separate matter between you and the manufacturer.
