Repair
Quoted first

You get a written estimate before any part is ordered or any labor is billed.

What the diagnostic buys

A technician on site, the grille off, and readings taken rather than guesses made. Temperatures at the cabinet and at the evaporator, airflow and condenser condition, door seal and closure, drain path, and the water side where the complaint involves ice. You get a written finding: what is wrong, what caused it, and what the cabinet will do if it is left alone.

If two cabinets are being looked at on the same visit — a refrigerator column and its paired freezer, say, or a kitchen unit and an outdoor undercounter — tell us when you book and we will price the second one before we arrive rather than after.

What the repair costs

We do not publish a repair price list, because one would be dishonest. The same symptom can be a fifteen-minute drain clearance or a sealed system job, and a menu price would be a guess dressed up as a policy. What we commit to instead is the sequence: diagnosis first, then a written estimate covering parts and labor, then your decision, then the work.

Parts are genuine oem parts. If a part is on back-order we tell you the wait before you commit, along with what the cabinet can safely do in the meantime.

What is not billed

  • Travel inside our service area. It is in the diagnostic fee.
  • The condenser clean carried out during a repair visit.
  • A second opinion on our own written finding.
  • A call that ends with us telling you it is not worth repairing.

Where salt changes the arithmetic

On this coast a fouled condenser is often the whole fault, and cleaning it is cheaper than anything else on the list. That is the good news. The bad news is that a coil left loaded for years pushes the compressor to run long and warm, and the bill that eventually arrives is a sealed system one. Our advice on coil service is not an upsell; it is the cheapest line item we have.
